Although I sit behind xubuntu, I use knode as nntp reader.
After some years of absence, knode is back! But I had a small problem:
I could not load the kio slave for NNTP. So had to install/add a
kio-slave lib manually!
kde4pimlibs-kio-plugins was absent in the dependencies.

Gustavo, thank you for the clarification. Perhaps the Dolphin file manager
has the option you are looking. I agree with Joao though. Change takes
time and they will learn and adding things bloats the software. I used to
integrate and overcoming the market training of customers just takes
