I had experienced the same issue with Xubuntu 18.10. Here are the 2 solutions that worked for me: 1. Installing gnome-screensaver (which required no dependencies) and unchecking light locker from startup applications. 2. Installed Xubuntu 18.04 which did not have this issue. This is

In all previous versions of Xubuntu, whenever I locked the screen of my laptop, I simply had to use the touchpad to bring me back to the login screen. On Xubuntu 18.10, when I try to unlock it, nothing is shown on the screen. If I press Ctrl+Alt+F1 I get a console, and back to X with
