I have not tried it, but Leopard's address book allows sharing and
edits by multiple users. Perhaps that would help.

And for calendars, maybe BusySync would be useful - it lets you share
calendars between multiple users. I've never used it myself though. http://www.busymac.com/

Webjimbo 2 brings Yojimbo to iPhone

2007-11-13 Thread Adrian Ross

Independent developer Adrian Ross announces the release of Webjimbo
2. Webjimbo is a web interface for Bare Bones Software's Yojimbo. It
allows you to view and edit your Yojimbo data from anywhere on the
internet, and now also from your iPhone or iPod Touch.

The new release of Webjimbo introduces a number of new features,
including:

* An elegant and intuitive new iPhone-specific interface, in addition
to the already highly-praised web 2.0 browser interface. Both
interfaces are more application-like than web-like.

* New easy setup means no network configuration is required. Users
who have tried Webjimbo in the past, but have been daunted by the
network setup, should try the new version.

* Webjimbo allocates you your own unchanging web address, like http://
findme.webjimbo.com/yourname, which works even when your IP address
changes. This means no dynamic DNS service is necessary.

* New support for viewing and editing passwords and encrypted notes.

* Configure-and-forget: Webjimbo now runs in the background and
doesn't take up space in your dock; it can also of course be set to
start when you log in.

* Full Leopard compatibility.

Webjimbo continues to provide robust security for your data and
version 2 adds several new security options.

Webjimbo costs $29.95 (individual) or $49.95 (family) and comes with
a fully-functional 30 day trial. Version 2 is a free upgrade for
existing users. More information is available at www.webjimbo.com.

Adrian Ross is not associated with Bare Bones software.

Re: Yojimbo password

You can set your keychain to lock automatically after a period of
inactivity - does this accomplish what you want?

Yes, I understand it now. I had my Keychain set to unlock
automatically after login. But if I set it to stay locked after login,
I only have to unlock it once and it will stay unlocked. So, when
using the Keychain for viewing Yojimbo encrypted items, I have to log
out and in again to "hide" my encrypted Yojimbo items after the
Keychain is unlocked.

I will send Barebones a feature request for more finegrained
password control.

Applescript broken under Leopard [was: Yojimbo & Pukka Applescript]

2007-11-02 Thread Adrian Ross
I can confirm that creating any new item from Applescript throws up
an error under Leopard. Oddly, the item is still created.

The same is true of a number of other Applescript operations.

Has anyone else noticed that the script for posting from Pukka (that
simultaneously posts to delicious and Yojimbo) is now broken in
Leopard? In Yojimbo, I just a random url and no tags.

Yes, making a new bookmark item in Yojimbo via Applescript appears
to be broken in Leopard.

The following script generates an error. I am not in front of
Leopard machine at the moment, but I believe it was along the lines
of 'Can't make "Yojimbo" into type specifier'.

tell application "Safari"
set theDescription to do JavaScript "document.title" in front
document

set theUrl to URL of front document
end tell

tell application "Yojimbo"
set newItem to make new bookmark item with properties
{name:theDescription, location:theUrl}

end tell

This script works correctly in OS X 10.4.

ANN: Webjimbo web interface

2007-07-24 Thread Adrian Ross

Hi all,

Following on from my post a month or so back, I'm pleased to announce
Webjimbo's release today.

Webjimbo is a web interface for Yojimbo. It lets you view and edit
your Yojimbo data from any computer with an internet connection and a
web browser, as long as your Mac running Yojimbo is visible on the
internet. Once again, no big sales pitch here, just a link to
www.webjimbo.com where you can get more information and download the
trial version.

Changes since the private beta include the ability to view passwords
and encrypted notes.

Cheers,
Adrian

ANN: Web interface for Yojimbo

2007-06-18 Thread Adrian Ross

Hi all,

Webjimbo is a web interface for Yojimbo. The idea is you run the
application on your Mac and you can access and change your Yojimbo
data from a web browser anywhere on the internet. I won't get into a
big sales pitch here - you can go to www.webjimbo.com for that -
suffice to say that the benefits should be fairly obvious if you
don't like your information being trapped on your Mac.

The time has come for beta testing. If you'd like to have an early
look at the application and give it a bit of a run through, drop me
an email with details of your Mac and your OS X version.

Cheers,
Adrian

PS. I should probably point out I'm not associated with the fine
people at Bare Bones.
