Hi,
now that the basic packages are all having reliable basic
configuration it's time to get rid of the libtool archives in order to
increase packaging flexibility.
Keep in mind that this also means bigger individual responsibility of
each packager taking care that he does not break dependencies

we as the whole team should put together a list of things we want to
get fixed with the next release.
That basically means deciding what to fix / and also what not.
I really think we also should have a release manager - who is not me -
to focus on getting a release done.
