FWIW in the 2.4 era there was a CONFIG_ANGELBOOT option. I found some references to Lubbock/Assabeth, not for Zaurus... It seems Angel in Debug Monitor mode can receive a kernel from angelboot on remote host. Here kernel patches and Angel sources: ftp://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/arm/people/
