One thing I wonder about... The channels on my router only go up to 11.
But I see lots of "channel 14" business (and no attempt to do anything but)

The driver names itself with ethX as you can see in dmesg. If yours
appears later as wlan0 it means that your distro has renamed it soon
after
ok, it was not the wrong setting in wpa_supplicant.conf, as i thought
before.
i keep getting the already described errors.
meanwhile, i also talked to a guy on IRC, and here is the protocol of
our talk. perhaps the info's may help..
now, i'll try the whole story, but without DHCP.

very strange was also that the wlanX never got up with the second stick (even
when it was alone)
has anyone an idea where to look ? (driver or HW problem ?)
