From: Susan Couldn't you both find a less harmful way of practicing
zazen? http://www.fishinghurts.com/

I remember thinking the same thing one day when I was urinating. My pee-pee
was hurting, and I thought Isn't there a less harmful way to pee?

So I visited http://www.penis.com/ and found out that I had Gonorrhea. Good
thing it wasn't Syphilis or I might have suffered brain damage.

2006-05-16 Thread Blossom
Susan, I second what leafjoy said, I also release the fish
immediately. I would NEVER eat another animal as I've been a
vegetarian for over 20 years. I guess we could all take every single
thing we do in life and weigh it to see how harmful it is to others.
Like, shouldn't you walk to work instead of drive so that your car's
emissions don't pollute the precious air? But then if you walk to
work, think how many insects' lives are at peril!! You could squash
dozens!! What I'm trying to say is, none of us are perfect, never
will be, no matter how much we pray or sit!! Peace to you friend.

There¹s a Japanese Zen saying that says:

When you catch the fish, forget the net.

What are we ³fishing² for and what are we using to try to ³catch it²? :-)

I'm not sure killing them is any worse than torturing them with sport
fishing catch-and-release. Maybe I'm wrong about this. I'm sure glad
I'm not a fish!
