RE: [Zen] Does anybody here write Haiku?

2010-09-01 Thread BillSmart
DP,

I enjoyed all of these very much!

They all communicate experience. There is no intrusion of the writer (no
use of the pronoun 'I' or 'you' or 'they'.

The last line on the last haiku has 6 syllables instead of 5, but other than
that blip I think they're all VERY NICE!

.Bill!

Here are a few of mine.

Clouds claw at the sun
blackgrey smothers the blue sky
cool wind on the way.

Halfway to the goal
red shirt runs up to the post
shrieks of victory.

Pink helmet blue dress
locking bicycle in place
new age commuter.

Rain falls on the ground
everywhere in glossy pools
good day to be a duck.

Re: [Zen] Does anybody here write Haiku?

2010-09-01 Thread Chris Austin-Lane
Most of these I wrote during my years as a stay at home parent.

spring - heat off, no air
sunny running, sweat again
sleep with blowing cool

Laughing falling smile
wordless jokes cracking us up
jump hide - where? ha ha!

grow grow grow unseen
mom is eating sleeping lots
when is who coming?

tiny wriggling blob
wavy screen fluttering heart
ultrasound thrills me

one two three four five
lots of beds for family
still, so, so, sleepy

sleeping, heavy babe
cooing warms heart, calms baby
what will his words be?

Fallen, crying hurt
Parent's old arms holding still
Happy running feet

giant belly
sweating pushing exertion
tiny peaceful life

smile, little frog
see my face - grab my finger
now drink sleepily

yelling no! Mine! Mine!
Swinging arms scare other kids
yelling hitting 2

lean air, bright leaves fall.
Walking lightly, smiles for all.
Life honors boldness.

Longing for great truth,
Feeling a sublime formless ...
Bad words stick in mind.

coats boots mittens too
putting them on again. whew.
Oh no! Time to pee.

And for today:

Ideas clashing hard!
Typing with great heat to fix.
Zen_Forum flows on.

Ahh, the indulgence. Thanks,

Hi DP again:

A THOUGHT TO YOU:

I paste you here a very beautiful interpretation by Paco Ibanez a great Spanish
Cantautor of Poetry and also amongst my favourites too!!!.  The song is sang in
the Vasque Language which it made even more sweet the performance.  The tittle
of this song : "Death will come and have your eyes" is a poem by the italian
Pavesse who commited suicidal.  Words are not important to be understood or not
here instead of that if you let your sensitivity go in a way that you flow with
the singer and music...You'll be enjoying very much.

I have been writing them for a few months. I've been writing since I was a kid,
but I find Haiku so relaxing and illuminating, because I love finding the right
word.

I've been doing traditional Haiku, that is keeping them about subjects like
nature and actions, rather than just using the form.
