Hi All,
Anyone in the group using ZFS compression on clearcase vobs? If so any issues,
gotchas?
IBM support informs that ZFS compression is not supported. Any views on this?

Hi Darren,
Thanks - IBM basically haven't test clearcase with ZFS compression

Hi All,
I am after some ZFS success stories in the ZFS community. The stories of
replacing Veritas VM/FS with ZFS in bigger data volume environments. If there
is please let me know the size and type of storage used, with applications ie:
DB etc.
Likewise I will take a hit on horror stories
Hi all,
I am after some help/feedback to the subject issue explained below.
We are in the process of migrating a big DB2 database from a

25K 12 CPU dual core x 1800Mhz with ZFS 8TB storage SAN storage (compressed

But Roshan, if your pool is not replicated from ZFS'
point of view, then all the multipathing and raid
controller backup in the world will not make a difference.
James, I Agree from ZFS point of view. However, from the EMC or the customer
point of view they want to do the replication at the

Hi All,
We have come across a problem at a client where ZFS brought the system down
with a write error on a EMC device due to mirroring done at the EMC level and
not ZFS, Client is total EMC committed and not too happy to use the ZFS for
oring/RAID-Z. I have seen the notes below about the ZFS
because of something happening on the array or fabric
then zfs is not to blame. The same thing would have happened
with any
other filesystem built on those devices.
What kind of pools were in use, raidz, mirror or simple stripe?
Regards,
Vic

Hi,
I believe Solaris 10 version 3 supports zfs backup and restore. How can I
upgrade previous versions of Solaris to run zfs backup/restore and where to
download the relevant versions.
Also, I have a customer wanting to know (now I am interested too) the detailed
information of how the zfs
Hi,
Sorry if this has been raised before.
Question: IS it possible to
1. Solaris 10 OS partitons to be SDS and have a single partition on that same
disk (without SDS) to be ZFS slice.
2. Partition the zfs slice for many partitions and each partition to hold a
zone. Idea is to create many
roughly when the fixes will be
available. So that I can give the cusrtomer some time related info.
Thanks again.

Hi,
a simple question..
is add dataset not part of zonecfg ?
global# zonecfg -z myzone (OK)
zonecfg:myzone add dataset (fails as there is no dataset option)
zonecfg:myzone add zfs (fails as there is no dataset option)
Basically how do I add a dataset to a zone ?
Thanks
