Thanks for the reply! The reason I'm not waiting until I have the disks is mostly because it will take me several months to get the funds together and in the meantime, I need the extra space 1 or 2 drives gets me. Since the sparse files will only take up the space in use, if I've migrated 2

This is an odd question, to be certain, but I need to find out what size a 1.5 TB drive is to help me create a sparse/fake array. Basically, if I could have someone do a dd if=1.5 TB disk of=somefile and then post the ls -l size of that file, it would greatly assist me. Here's what I'm doing:
