When I take a snapshot of my rpool, (of which /export/... is a part of), ZFS
ignores all the data in it and doesn't take any snapshots...
How do I make it include /export in my snapshots?
BTW, I'm running on Solaris 10 Update 6 (Or whatever is the first update to
allow for root pools...)
I have a computer that contains 8 1TB drives. I have 3 USB drives that are
750MB. So that's a total of 11 drives. Can I install solaris or opensolaris on
the first harddrive and mirror it on the second harddrive? Can I then use the 9
remaining drives as a RAID-Z2? Will there be a problem with
Does ZFS support pooled, mirrored, and raidz storage with SATA-port-multipliers

the snapshot (sheer curiosity). I don't have compression turned
Recently I managed to create a pool named 'vault' for my external usb HDD
(250G).
I generally backup my data using the zfs send and zfs recieve commands.
However, I don't leave my computer or usb HDD on 24/7.
Before I poweroff the HDD, I export the pool (zpool export vault). Then I turn
off
Oh, and one more question.
Would it bo possible for me to copy data (i.e. photos) to my external usb HDD
(which is zfs) and to go to another computer that runs solaris and view the
data in that disk.
I know it sounds silly, but I want to know if the pool name and metadata and
such are stored
