[Zim-wiki] Error with image path at exporting to md

2021-07-14 Thread Agustin Lobo
I have found the following error at exporting one single page with an
attached image to md with zim v. 0.73.5:

The original image in the zim path is:
/home/alobo/Dropbox/WikiMind/notes/Notebooks/ZimNotes/Home/Work/ImProc/Segmentation/MeanShift/MS-OTB_Tests/A_Practical_Guide_of_Mean-Shift_Segmentation_using_OTB/pasted_image.png

The image is copied during the export to:
./A_Practical_Guide_of_Mean-Shift_Segmentation_using_OTB_files/Home/Work/ImProc/Segmentation/MeanShift/MS-OTB_Tests/A_Practical_Guide_of_Mean-Shift_Segmentation_using_OTB/pasted_image.png

But the created md has the following, inexisting path, which seems a
mix of both:
![](./A_Practical_Guide_of_Mean-Shift_Segmentation_using_OTB_files/Home/Work/08ClasesySeminarios/MASTER_CREAF/2021/TFMs/LeonardoTorijano/pasted_image.png)

Exporting to html works fine.

By some reason, cannot export MHTML: once I select the output file,
click OK and nothing happens.
Print to Browser does not work either.
Using 0.73.5 on linux

[Zim-wiki] Insert images side by side and page size

2021-06-13 Thread Agustin Lobo
I need to include several images in i.e. a 3x2 grid.
Depending upon the size of the images, I can insert them side by side, or
they automatically get in different rows. For example, I observe that
I can have up to 3 images with 256 columns.
I understand there must be some parameter controlling the number of
columns in 1 page,
but where is this value defined? can it be modified?

Also, Is there a way of using a table to arrange the images?

To continue, you can save a copy of this page or discard

By some reason new pages do not get in alphabetic order in zim Index.
For example, a new page names Remote is listed after Volcan.
I must have unintentionally modified something but do not get to find what.
Any help? It's very annoying.

Hi!
I've installed boxcutter 1.5

Re: [Zim-wiki] wishlist?

2017-05-10 Thread Agustin Lobo
Just added 2 feature requests as
https://github.com/jaap-karssenberg/zim-desktop-wiki/issues/26
https://github.com/jaap-karssenberg/zim-desktop-wiki/issues/27

I understand the correct label would be Enhancement, but do not see how I
can label the tickets.

Also, one of most demanded feature requests would be an Android version,
but I'm not sure to add that
to the wiki. Nevertheless, having votes for it would be an important
encouragement

[Zim-wiki] wishlist?

Is there a wishlist where we could add and vote feature requests?
I see the keyword "wishlist" in

but I'm not sure if that's the appropriate place.

Re: [Zim-wiki] Markdown headers convention

2017-02-01 Thread Agustin Lobo
This is a recurrent issue (search the archives for markdown). It seems
that interpreting markdown syntax would be a major change.
I requested that, at least, zim would accept *.md files as pages along
with *.txt files. Even if the syntax were not interpreted, including
md documents in the zim directory would be already an improvement.
BTW, is there zim-like application based on markdown syntax?

Some of us are even willing to pay for it... Apparently nobody has

There are some work-arounds, but I have not found any of them to be a

evernote just because not having acces to my notes from my tablet is
becoming a real problem. But then other problems would come up...

Re: [Zim-wiki] insert image from web

2016-06-04 Thread Agustin Lobo
Thank you all for your answers,
Found the problem: while the copy on the browser and pasting on zim works
under linux, it does not under mac OSX, where you just get the link
pasted but not
the actual image. Do not know about windows, I assume it works.
I'm using 0.63 in both mac and linux (upgrading under mac is kind of
tricky and thus
keep both on 0.63 until I feel brave enough to face the mac upgrade...), could
anybody using > 0.63 under mac let me know if the cut aand paste of
images works?
That would be a push for me to upgrade.

Hi!
What do I have to do in order to actually insert an image from a web page, i.e.

have no internet access)
I've tried Insert image (with Attach image first) but writing the url
in the navigation panel does
not work.

[Zim-wiki] Problem with Left Index at exporting as html

2016-05-10 Thread Agustin Lobo
I have the following problem:
I export as html (Single Page, Include subpages, ZeroFiveEight
template, export each page to separate file) zim page ABSpect and its
subpages as seen in
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3180464/Screenshot-Notebooks%20-%20Zim.png

But the main html page lacks its own name on its left index:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3180464/Screenshot-ABSpect_html1.jpeg

While subpages do have their names in the index, and are clickable there:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3180464/Screenshot-ABSpectAn_html_2.jpeg

Any fix to this? Am I doing something wrong?
Using zim0.62 on linux

[Zim-wiki] Relative path in html generated by zim

2016-05-09 Thread Agustin Lobo
I have the following problem:
I need a link to a relative path in the destination folder of the html pages

on the html page,
the actual link points towards the absolute path in relation to the

[Zim-wiki] Organizing feature requests?

2016-05-04 Thread Agustin Lobo
Would it be possible having a page for feature requests
in which users could vote and add funding?
I think on a list with columns
feature name, feature description, votes for, votes against, funding,
complexity, priority likelihood

where the 3 last ones would be set by the developper considering
votes, funding and his will. I think that priority should give complexity
a lot of weight: for example, leting zim open files with extensions other
than *.txt would perhaps not be interesting for many, but it would be
so simple to implement...
As "feature description" should be very short, the proposer could just
write a simple page (using zim, of course) being linked
from "feature name".

Also, there should be some way of checking the likelihood of a given
feature to become real before actually adding funding. For example, I would
invest on a better and smoother MacOSX installation, but as I know
this is not going to happen I rather put my money elsewhere. Perhaps
discussing on the mailing list is the only way.

Cheers,

Agus

[Zim-wiki] Use zim to structure html pages?

2016-04-27 Thread Agustin Lobo
I have some html pages that I create as output of Rmarkdown (R code
with markdown formatting).
I wish put them in a structured way as subpages (and sub-subpages) of
a main page
I wonder if I can use zim for that.

By now, what I do Is creating a main page (let's say, MyMain) and then
subpages and sub-subpages in zim. I put a link to a given html page in
each subpage and
then I use Export/Single page with Include subpages.

This is not bad but it is not nice.

Is there a way to actually include the html page within a zim subpage,
thus avoiding the link?
Or set the link in the Subpage in the Index?

Alternatively, if anyone has an idea on how to organize i.e. 20
existing html pages
in a tree structure, suggestions welcome.

Thanks
Agus

Jaap,
I understand. Unfortunately I do not qualify for taking the lead. I
could help with testing
and even with packaging if someone instructs me on what to do and how
to do it, but we still need
a volunteer with some knowledge and experience on the MacOS. I'm just
a user, can compile etc, but just
follwing directions.
May be we should put a prominent notice on the web page with the
profiles of the required volunteers
(MacOS packaging, Android version etc)

[Zim-wiki] Contributing to solve the problems of installing zim on MacOS

2016-04-05 Thread Agustin Lobo
Installing and using zim on MacOS has some minor problems
that, having a Mac among the machines in which I use zim through dropbox,
I would like to see solved. In particular, I would like to have a
simple and smooth installation.
I'm often backwards on my zim version on Mac just because I worry of
having probelms
and not getting the newer version to work.
I've sometimes read that the main reason for these minor problems is that Jaap
has no access to a Mac machine to just tune the zim installation for MacOS.
If this is really the problem, I propose that Mac users contribute to pay for
renting a Mac for Jaap (or for whoever could do the job) whenever it
were needed.
Is this an option? Personally I would be ready to contribute as of now.

Regards,
Agus

Re: [Zim-wiki] *.md files

2016-04-05 Thread Agustin Lobo
Jaap,
Just having *.md files displayed as text would be helpful already (the
markdown codes cause a minimum disturbance for the reading or perhaps I'm
so used to seeing them), and should be pretty easy to implement.
Obviously having zim interpreting markdown codes and formating the text
will be much better, but I understand this is not trivial and will take
time. But there is no reason to postpone the good for the best.

[Zim-wiki] *.md files

2016-03-29 Thread Agustin Lobo
I observe that only files with extension *.txt are recognized by zim
as pages. I.e. a file named test1.txt within folder Tests within the notebook
tree appears in the left index and is displayed in zim, but the same file
named test1.md does not.
As I have a number of *.md files I would be interested on zim recognizing them
as if they were named *.txt
If in the future zim interprets markdown, we would get the md files
formatted. By now
I can live seeing the raw markdown text.

So, my request: could the extension *.md (and *.Rmd) be dealt as if it
were *.txt by zim?

Thanks

Re: [Zim-wiki] How can I check the directory of ZimNotes?

2016-03-09 Thread Agustin Lobo
Thanks,
I've found it in .config/zim/notebooks.list

Maybe it would be useful having the possibility of checking this
directory within Zim, i.e
as an option in the right-click menu over a given page in the left index.
But not big deal once I know where to find it within the config files.

I'm having a sync problem and would like to verify that I made the correct
setup of Zim on one of the machines. How can I check the actual directory
of the ZimNotes?
The contents of a given page and the one of its supposedly corresponding
text file do not match.

Re: [Zim-wiki] Lets build a zim android app together!

2016-02-10 Thread Agustin Lobo
I definetly would need to see and edit my zim notebook (which is synced in
Dropbox) from Android as I do in Linux and Mac machines. Saving urls from
an Android browser to a zim note would be a very frequent operation in my
case. Having access to the task list would also be helpful. Other tools
such as creating HTML pages would not be as critical as I can wait for
doing that until I have access to a Linux or Mac desktop.

[Zim-wiki] Fwd: Vertical arrow?

2016-01-09 Thread Agustin Lobo
I've selected Arial as font and the \ d o w n ; works now! albeit the
symbol is too
small. By now I've just increased the size of the font, but this is really not
a good solution. Using Chrome I can include this thicker arrow⬇︎, but
pasted into
zim becomes just a little square.
I still have most of the symbols at the end of the list under
Insert/Symbol as little squares, see
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qcxuwkbsu74w4p3/Screenshot%202016-01-09%2010.23.15.png?dl=0
Is this normal?

How can I insert an html code?

Re: [Zim-wiki] Vertical arrow?

2016-01-08 Thread Agustin Lobo
Paulo: in insert/symbol you just have to click the symbol twice so
that it appears
in the top rectangle, then insert.

My problem is that the arrows are not in the set of symbols. After the
first 2/3 most of them are little squares. Is there a way I can extend
the set of symbols?

Instead, I can include the symbols here (Chrome): →⬅︎ with Special Characters
Perhaps the problem is that I'm using a Mac and/or an Spanish keyboard.

Murat: what do you mean by "\down" ?

Marco: What's the key that has to be pressed for the html codes you refer to?

Thanks

[Zim-wiki] "Shared" checkbox missing

2015-09-26 Thread Agustin Lobo
states:
"The first step in setting up real syncing is enable “Shared” mode. Go
to File → Properties and turn on the checkbox called “Shared
Notebook”."

I do not have that checkbox at all (zim 0.63) and nevertheless I use
zim across computers just by having my notebook on my dropbox folder.
Questions:
1.Why is the checkbox missing from my Properties window?
2. What is actually doing having the "Shared" checkbox selected?
3. Am I running any risk by the fact of not having that option enabled?

Thanks

[Zim-wiki] zim063 on Mac

2015-06-20 Thread Agustin Lobo
Many thanks for zim 063

Some points:

1. Cannot find directions for installing using Platypus on http://zim-wiki.org/
I do find them on
https://github.com/jaap-karssenberg/zim-wiki/wiki/Install-on-OS-X-using-Platypus
These directions are useful and I can confirm that they work well.
Also, I do recommend using PyGTK

2. I find a bit confusing whether we have to run
./setup.py install
or not. I guess not, but why is this mentioned then?

3. Export to html: Problem with not having the top page in the left
index has been solved. Thanks!

4. Still crashes if I move a sub-page to a different place in zim's
left tree. Re-start does not work from the crash panel automatically
opened by MacOSX. Have to close that and re-run zim063. In that case,
the sub-page has been moved to
the selected place. This crash is not a big problem for me as I used
the little mac as a secondary machine (essentially for traveling) and
can reorganize the tree
on the linux machine at the office.

5.In case this were of any help, I link the output of ./test.py
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6sqcboq38n9v302/test_report.html?dl=0

6. Having to use ie. Ctrl-c instead of Cmd-c is odd on a Mac. But if
this is difficult to solve or implies maintenance problems I can
perfectely live with that.

7. I have the notebook on dropbox and works great.

8. If I select inserting an image, cannot paste the path and name in
Location. Not sure if this happens on linux too.

Note I can try to help debugging the crash, but need directions on what to do.

Thanks again for zim. It's a really valuable tool for me and would
like to contribute somehow.

Best,

Agus

Re: [Zim-wiki] crashes on Mac

2015-06-01 Thread Agustin Lobo
There are (for me, minor) problems on mac:
1. Key shortcuts use Ctrl instead of Cmd (i.e., Ctrl-c instead of
Cmd-c) which is odd on mac
(i.e., you copy text on any mac program with cmd-c but paste on zim
with ctrl-v).
2. The crash I explained. This could be bad if the mac were my main
machine, but it is not.

I can run zim062.app using open on the terminal, but then cannot
(raterh do not know how to) use --verbose. There has to be some way.
I'll try but I'll be out in the field few days with unstable internet.

Sorry, I know nothing about the Mac yet. I'm actually considering moving

 concern.

 Hi Agus

See here for an explanation where to installt he templates: Zim - a desktop
wiki - templates. After installing it will appear as template in the
 template selection menu when exporting.

So, on linux, you will find a hidden folder in your home directory
~/.local/share/zim/templates. In that folder you copy the
ecodiv-responsive.html and the ecodiv-responsive folder (with all its
content obviously), and you should be ready to go.

In Windows I wouldn't know where the templates are kept, but see this page:
Zim - a desktop wiki - config files

Alternatively, you can simply copy the ecodiv-responsive.html file and
folder to any folder on your computer. Then when exporting your notebook,
you select as template 'other' after which you can browse to the location
where you keep your template and select the html file.

Good idea to add it to the wiki. I don't have the time right now, but the
wiki can be edited by anybody, so if you have the time, perhaps something
 you can do?

To be honest, I don't know if there is a possibility to change the display
order for the index. I haven't found anything either.
But the index is shown in alphabetical order.

You may want to try out by putting numbers as a prefix to your notes. That's
how I make sure that the notes remain in the order I want.

[Zim-wiki] Sort Index

2014-12-10 Thread Agustin Lobo
Is there a way of making the index on the left to display in alphabetic order?
It was ordered at the beginning (i.e. the pages within Home are
alphabetically ordered)
but then (some) subpages are not.

I've searched within the settings to see if there is some option that
I could have
inadvertently unselected at some point, but have not found any,

Thanks

[Zim-wiki] soft-linked page

2014-11-29 Thread Agustin Lobo
Hi!
I sometimes would need having the same page under different paths, i.e.:
Work:ImProc:Segmentation and Work:Projects:Bert2014:Tetracam:Segmentation

I wonder if could have one of the 2 as a soft link to the other. For
example, an option As Soft link to within New Subpage
I know this is probably possible using linux commands, but do not want to get
into that for this.

Thanks

yes, same problem for both files.

It works now, thanks.

[Zim-wiki] zim and markdown

2014-02-12 Thread Agustin Lobo
In the thread about Access and edit zim notes when Zim isn't installed,
Michele Pratusevich says:
I do exactly what you described - save my Zim notebooks in Dropbox
and edit the text files (in markdown) in a free text editor.

Does this mean that Zim uses the same syntax than markdown?
i.e., a header just defined as
# Header 1
## Subheader 1.1
can be formatted by Zim? I've tried and do not get that.

[Zim-wiki] flowcharts

2014-02-12 Thread Agustin Lobo
I'd like to include flowcharts of the involved processing chains
in the zim files that I use to document my work.
I've found the Ditaa plugin. Had never used Ditaa. Looks nice
because of its simplicity, but after a first testing I find it tedious
because you have to manually write the contours. Is there anybody
using Ditaa? Is this something you get used after a while? Other people
including flowcharts made with other programs can provide alternatives?
Thanks

Re: [Zim-wiki] How to create a journal

Actually, unless I do go to the Configure menu of the plugin and

The plugin also adds a calendar widget to zim. By default this is

If I select Show calendar in sidepane... , then yes, I do get a
calendar. If I click on today, I get a page
Journal

  ---01
  -29

but this looks like a journal for the day, no matter the project. This
is interesting, but how can I get the same for 2 particular projects?
I mean,
a journal for project1 and another for project2 (both under Home/Work)

Re: [Zim-wiki] How to create a journal

2014-01-29 Thread Agustin Lobo
ok, thanks. This is what I understand:

1. The way to create a journal page is by clicking on the a date in the calendar
2. The only special properties of a journal page are that
2.1. it is linked to the given date in the calendar
2.2 the tasks get implicit date and appear with this date in the
tasks list (if option is activited)
3. There can be only one journal for each notebook

Correct?

Also,
check the Insert/date and time which allows
for adding a link to the journal page

I can include the date, but it is not a link. Do you mean to insert
the date for a task?

Thanks
Agus

As far as I know, you cannot have more than a journal in the same
notebook. You can have one notebook per project or you can have a page
serving as a journal for a project that links back to the journal
namespace or you can link journal entries to the project. I can't
remember any better way of doing that at this moment.
