I think the best thing that can happen to a new convert is for
them to be given a job in the ward/branch. The more they are
completely IMMERSED in the activities and goings-on of the ward,
the more they'll become and feel a part of the ward and thus the
church as a whole.

For us, it was the constant attention. Almost every day and night, we had someone
from the ward dropping by, helping us get acclimated to the new lifestyle, explaining
the new jargon. It was the friends who decided to pick up our oldest daughter every
morning at 5:30 for early morning seminar
