Re: [ZION] Feedback Please - Chapter 5

2004-03-17 Thread Sara Peterson
Thank you Jon for your comment, because this mixed up compassion is what is
guiding the opinions of all my peers at the University. Even those who are
not that "interested" in the issue, are swayed in favor of Same Sex
Marriages because of their compassion. Thank goodness for the prespective
the Atonement gives us, to help us understand the how to treat one another
in relation to eternal laws.

Let me offer another perspective on abortion, one that I held before
joining
the church.

I myself was against abortion. However, I felt physically sick when I
thought of those children born to drug addicts and worse. Why should they
have to suffer? Abortion was a much better choice.
Of course, I now have much greater knowledge.

It is interesting to see how compassion can be used by Satan to turn our
minds to support things which are abominations. This is just like the
gay-marriage issue, where our compassion can sometimes blind us.
But as we all know, mercy cannot rob justice, and compassion cannot trump
eternal laws.

I'll simply observe at this point that some persons advocate open access
to abortion precisely because it reduces the population from what it
might have been otherwise. Zero Population Growth advocates tend to be
the most radical of all, tending to feel that any extra person upon the

came from that perspective.

RE: [ZION] Feedback Please - Chapter 5

2004-03-04 Thread Jim Cobabe

The beginning of life thus became a dead-end for so many. Heavenly
Father must be so saddened. His children have no joy in their own
children. Difficult to imagine a more bleak and twisted perversion of
the Divine purposes of mortal probation.

How easy to dismiss the evil of this perfidious act that has become so
commonplace. Our hearts must have turned to stone.

2004-03-04 Thread RB Scott
The only sure solution is to mandate tubal ligations for every
young woman of childbearing age who fails a standardized exam on
proper conception prevention techniques. Right-to-Life orgs and
Planned Parenthood should teach the classes and administer the
tests.
