Surely this raises some data integrity issues if you copy in
mid-transaction? Or does an incomplete transaction at the end of the db
just get thrown out, and the design of the db assure that only the end of
the file gets updated?

in the root of tyour zope-space (tm), put a DTML Method called index_html
which has these contents:
dtml-var index.html
or alternatively
dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('index.html')"
The second does mean an extra call to the server, but has other advantages.

Hi Zopers
On the xml-doc mailing list [1] I read a notice about
Infozone [2], an open source application server framework
that looked relevant to the kind of stuff Zope does. Maybe
some of their components are suited to be leveraged? I

OK, OK, there are *many* ways of shooting yourself in the

Hi,
I experienced the same weird intermittent problem yesterday that I have

Basically, Zope 2.1.6 returns only half a page. By that I mean if I view

Hi,
Is is just me or does stuff inside a dtml-comment get parsed?
So if you have:

You still can't save the page 'cos the the parser throws up an error.
That seems silly to me. Anyone else agree?
cheers,

Yeah, that's the way it works. I'm not sure why, though I remember
someone trying to explain it to me around the time of the last Python

Hi All,
I decided today was learn Zope Day. I expect to be pounding the list with
some newbie questions.
I installed Zope 2.2.0 on a Win 98 machine. Seems to work fine. I dloaded

I think it can safely be changed to not evaluate what's between
the comment tags. Patches accepted, as always. :-)

Darn. Those docs are a little ( ok, a lot...) out of date. They're
still useful, but they don't cover a few things.
With the advent of Zope 2.2, the first thing you need to do is to create a
management user. You cannot use the 'superuser' to manage content. I
know this is a little

Okay, my aim here is to effectively have batching with trees.
Why? well because a tree with over a thousand items at the root is
pretty hefty to download to a browser, not to mentioned pretty
antisocial to navigate and use.
My idea, as you may have seen from recent posts, was to do a dtml-in

Hi,
One powerful feature of Python is the ease of reloading modules. This makes
debugging extremely nice, since you can modify the code, reload the module,
and all this while the main program is still running.
Moreover, if a particular instance object has been created, you can actually

"dtml-comment" must do a bit of parsing:
It must at least recognized "/dtml-comment".
Maybe, it wants to recognize nested "dtml-comment" (probably not),
then it must look at all tags.
Probably, however,
