Yo, couldn't resist to mention that "Zabber" means drewl/saliva in Dutch, so the name might be not that fortunate. ;) Sloot. ___ Zope-Dev maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope )

Interesting. Thanks. Interesting also that they are no longer (or not yet?) listing it on their products page. I would be very interested in taking a look. :-) Too bad the jabber library you used is unmaintained. Thanks Gary cguardia wrote: I have used Zope+Jabber in the past, with an old version of a jabber library that seems to be unmaintained as of now. I used it for instant alerts of new tasks in an issue tracker, for creating simple multi-user games for cell-phones using WAP and even created a simple Windows client that published open windows in IE that had certain Zope manage URLs showing and warned developers when someone else opened the same Zope object for editing. Sadly, I have had no time recently to complete these projects and evolve them into distributable products, so they stand as interesting experiments with no production-ready code. I could post the simple Zope product that I used for my experiments though, if anyone is interested. -- Carlos de la Guardia Aldea Systems ___ Zope-Dev maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope )

The ability to push messages to a user--be it alerts to an administrator ("critical error: XXX"), event reminders from a calendar ("You have a meeting in XXX minutes"), time sensitive workflow changes ("article named 'My Headline Article' rejected: revisions due in one hour"), or more--over a system like Jabber that can be used over both desktop and standard mobile devices seems very practical, exciting, and powerful.
