LEAD STORY:
"The XML/Domino partnership"
Adoption of Extensible Markup Language by the computer industry has
been slow, which has affected XML implementation into Domino. More
recently, though, the pace of XML integration with Domino has
quickened. Not only is Lotus is working on a Domino XML Language but
the company has made available a preview of its XML Toolkit.

[1] "Worms come under attack"
Anti-virus vendors are working on new technologies and strategies
they hope will reduce the likelihood of another outbreak on the scale
of the ILoveYou virus, which swept through corporate networks a year
ago. For example, McAfee is working on ways to add a technique called
sandboxing to its products. Sandboxing identifies and isolates
suspicious code in a virtual environment and then observes its
behavior. Security administrators say anti-virus vendors have come a
long way in the year since the Love Bug hit.

[3] "Doubts cast on report claiming new virus spreads without opening
e-mail"
A fast-spreading computer virus that is better equipped than
predecessors to destroy data has turned up in China, the Guangming
Daily has reported. Some observers are raising doubts. The virus is
rigged to activate only when the month and day add up to the number
13, such as May 8 or June 7, the newspaper said.

corporate infrastructures an IBM official has said. Irving

THE MISSING LINK
-------------------------------------------------
"Program catches copycat students"
After grading reams of terms papers, most teachers must feel like
they've heard it all before. One University of Virginia professor
actually had, and decided to act on rumors about his students filing
plagiarized papers. Louis Bloomfield wrote a software program that
scans electronically filed papers for strings of words previously
submitted in his classes. Surprise! He caught 122 less-than-original
authors. The suspects were called before the university's Honor
Committee, where they were presumably more innovative in their
defense.
