[2] "Employee privacy under siege'
Three-quarters of U.S. businesses now monitor employee e-mail or in
some other way, double the rate five years ago, concluded a study by
the American Management Association. Cheap, easy-to-use monitoring
technology is to blame. The annual survey also found more than a
quarter of respondent companies fired people for misuse of company
technology and three-quarters have disciplined people.

[3] "New worm sniffs out child porn'
An e-mail worm that seeks out child pornography on personal computers
and alerts government agencies to positive findings has been released
by British hackers. Once executed, the virus searches all hard drives
for graphics files possessing names that indicate they may contain
child pornography. British police said they will not be responding to
the worm alerts, as the reports would fail to meet evidence
standards.

[5] "Watch where you use that wingding"
The choice of an e-mail font reveals personality traits, found a new
study. Printer vendor Lexmark International hired a psychologist to
analyze e-mail users' choice of fonts. The findings: people who use
typewriter-style Courier fonts are stuck in the past, while Helvetica
fans are in touch with contemporary issues. Devotees of Times New
Roman and Palatino are able to compromise between old and new and
they are trustworthy.

THE MISSING LINK
A look at an off-the-wall story off the Web
-------------------------------------------------
"Some fight 'cyber' schools in Pennsylvania"
Cyber school may be cool, but the burgeoning movement has angered
some Pennsylvania superintendents who say they didn't know the
virtual schools in their district even existed until they got socked
with the tuition bills. Now, the school board there has filed a
lawsuit against two cyber schools, which enroll about 600 students,
citing the schools were operating illegally under a state-mandated
charter school program. But it may be the tuition bills that have
really gotten their goat. The cost? Anywhere from $5,000 to $11,000
per student.
