Corporations usually install a software program, such as Baltimore Technologies' MIMEsweeper for Domino or United Messaging's Message Control, that scans incoming and outgoing messages. Automated technology can scan for viruses, spam and offensive language. Some products control the amount of e-mail sent and received, and a MIMEsweeper add-on product scans e-mail for a surplus of flesh tones. Most of today's worms are still fairly low-tech and easily controlled. The next generation of worms will use popular file-sharing programs like Napster and Gnutella to transmit. Also, they will be much stealthier.
