LEAD STORY
HACKTIVISTS CLAIM COUP AGAINST GLOBAL LEADERS SITE | The Register
Hacktivists have been blamed for cutting off access last weekend to
the Web site of the World Economic Forum (WEF), a talking shop for
the world's political and business leaders. The site, which uses the
unusual combination of Domino 5.0.8 on Linux, fell victim to a
denial-of-service but is now back online.

NET SURFERS SET OUT TO SQUELCH SPAM | CNET
Last week the U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced new efforts to
thwart deceptive e-mail. However, some suggest that users will remain
front-line troops in the battle against spam, and their best weapons
will be spam filters supplied by ISPs, Web-based mail programs and
software developers.

INTERLIANT UNVEILS REMOTE MONITORING FOR DOMINO | DataCenterWire
Application service provider (ASP) and Web hosting company Interliant

SEARCHDOMINO ASK THE EXPERT RESPONSE | Advice: Chuck Connell

In NAB, we have enabled password checking in user ID at person
document. Somehow, the user Last Change Date and Password Digest are
not getting stored in address book (The field is empty.)

Every 30th day the system will prompt users to change their Notesmail
password. Once the user changes the password, by rite the password
should updated at the Password Digest field and so is the Date of
changing the password. The funny thing is, users do get the
notification of password change popup screen that was notified by the
system and user managed to change password. Any idea why? Is there
any alternative way to update the Last Change Date and the Password
Digest?

FEATURED BOOK | searchDomino Bookstore

Title: J2EE and XML Development
Authors: Kurt Gabrick and David Weiss

Description: Geared toward experienced developers, this reference
demonstrates how Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE), and XML
technologies can be used together to create more robust distributed
applications and software systems. The use of XML technology to
extend and enhance the capabilities of the J2EE platform is covered
in detail. Discussed are J2EE and XML integration at each layer of an
n-tier distributed application model. Design patterns, tradeoffs, and
decision criteria are provided in terms of individual XML and J2EE
technology combinations. Hot topics in application integration are
also covered, including Web services, architectures, and business
partner integration.

THE MISSING LINK | Super Bowl commercial replays score big

Here's a good title for a song about TiVo and Pepsi commercials:
"Oops, I replayed it again, and again, and again, and again." The
digital video recorder maker tallied up how many times Super Bowl
viewers replayed the Pepsi commercials starring soda pop star Britney
Spears. There are no exact figures, but TiVo says Britney got a lot
of replay-time -- more than the game itself! This may be proof that
TiVo isn't the death of commercials -- it's proof that advertisers
can benefit if they make their product interesting.
