LEAD STORY:
SPAM SHOWDOWN AT BATTLE CREEK | News: Wired
The city of Battle Creek, Mich. recently learned a tough lesson about
the importance of updating its Domino e-mail server. When a computer
allegedly contacted the town's server to see if it was a relay point
for bulk e-mailers, it caused the server, which was running an
outdated version of Domino, to mail-bomb itself. Newer releases of
Domino have fixed the vulnerability.

THE MISSING LINK | Geeks make hash of high-tech iBong

Two dudes deep in the heart of Texas are high on their Mac. So what,
you say, gaggles of geeks are high on their Macs. These guys are
guaranteed higher. In fact, they're high FROM their Mac. They've
turned it into a bong! That's stonerspeak for a water pipe used to
smoke marijuana (rent a Cheech and Chong movie if you'd like to learn
more). How did they do it? It took some installation and lots of
inhalation. The guys added a large tube to the back of an all-in-one
Mac SE30, a bowl to the front and the water bong behind the screen.
They call their smokin' little gadget the "iBong" -- it's the only
Mac that'll give you the munchies. They say they got the idea from
the MacQuarium Macintosh modification, which turns an all-in-one Mac
into a fish tank.
