EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the first in a series of Ask the Expert
questions and answers we will feature from time to time in the
SearchDomino Developer tip. If you have a Notes or Domino developer
question, send them to our experts here:

-----------------------------
Dear Ask the Expert,
How can I transfer the values from one field to another field (the
two fields are in different forms & different databases)? Can I use
ASP or XML? Does it need any separate database connectivity? Or else
I can use the Notes database?

-----------------------------
Dear Ask the Expert,
What is the best way to use graphical buttons with mouseovers that
execute @Functions or LotusScript in a Web-based Domino app? I've
seen a few articles about it but they all seem to fall short.

-----------------------------
Dear Ask the Expert,
I want to restrict a field to only 100 characters. For example, the
Summary of Change field... There should not be more than 100
characters when the user provides a brief summary. Is this doable?

-----------------------------
Dear Ask the Expert,
How can I implement an application that keeps version tracking?
Should I use the option of the form "Prior versions become
responses"? How can I use this? Thank you.

HOW ASK THE EXPERT WORKS:
You have a question relating to a development or a Domino/Notes
application issue that you need assistance with. You clearly state
your question providing relevant details. SearchDomino receives it
and sends it off to the expert in the particular field of inquiry.
Our expert's ability to answer the question depends upon the volume
of questions we receive and the usefulness to the SearchDomino
community. Our Ask the Expert feature is not tech support - it is
solely a Q&A based resource with the objective of helping the
SearchDomino community with common and interesting problems.
