If you have Notes or Domino developer questions, send them to our experts here: http://searchdomino.techtarget.com/ateExperts/0,289622,sid4,00.html ----------------------------- Dear LotusScript & Application Development Expert, My question is in regards to the location of my scripts. I've never been able to find anything that outlines the best places to use script that are on a general level. For example, when would I use would a script library vs. using the global form scripts vs. using an agent etc., keeping in mind that performance is always a priority. Dear Scripter, There is always more than one school of thought on this, primarily because, when it comes to LotusScript/VB/VBScript/VBA/etc, it's mostly a matter of style vs performance, more than requirements. I'll give you my take on it, though... >>Click here to read Todd Fuder's full response: http://searchdomino.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid4_cid461813_tax289239,00.html ----------------------------- Dear LotusScript & Application Development Expert, I am trying to create an agent, which creates groups based on location field in the NAB and members to the group. I thought of one method as storing html files as attachments in Notes docs in a Notes databases and then FT Index the database using "Index attachments" method. I then intend to use FTSearch method of LS to search in the notesdatabase for text in html files. Can you suggest a better and faster method? >>Click here to read Dave Hatter's response: http://searchdomino.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid4_cid461832_tax288591,00.html ----------------------------- Dear Web Development Expert, We maintain an incident log of computer problems. Each record is on date/time. There is one long description field. Each week I export the previous week's data to Excel to print as a management report. If I export as csv, the long description is truncated when it exceeds a certain length, and sometimes the gridlines cut the top or bottom text in cells. Neither occurs when I export as .wks but at the end of each cell I get a non-printable character rectangle, which does indeed print. This can be removed with Excel's CLEAN function, but I have not worked out how to use this function on an entire worksheet. Have you any suggestions on the export that may assist. >>Click here to read Jens Bruntt's solution: http://searchdomino.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid4_cid465134_tax282450,00.html ----------------------------- HOW ASK THE EXPERT WORKS: You have a question relating to a development or a Domino/Notes application issue that you need assistance with.
