LEAD STORY:
IBM CEO SENDS MIXED SIGNALS | eWEEK & InfoWorld
It would seem everyone has a different take on IBM CEO Samuel
Palmisano's comments yesterday during a news conference with
financial analysts. According to one report, Palmisano indicated Big
Blue could soon reduce its workforce by 20,000 employees, but others
claim he dodged the issue without indicating if layoffs were
imminent. (Editor's note: SearchDomino has provided two news links
below, but does not endorse one over the other.)

SCANNING ENCRYPTED E-MAIL A TRICKY PROPOSITION | SearchSecurity
Enterprise administrators face a quandary when scanning encrypted
e-mail messages for viruses. Encryption ensures privacy, but could do
so at the expense of system security. Balancing both is a tricky

Dear Scott,
How do I go about creating a data connection between WebSphere
(running under NT) and Domino R5.0.10 (running on an iSeries box)? I
want to have data from a Domino/Notes database synchronized with a

THE MISSING LINK | Uh, dude, the Dell guy is accessorizing

Dude, if you find Dell's whole "Steven" shtick unbearable, at least
you won't find it unwearable. Dell thinks its "Dude, you're gettin' a
Dell" ad campaign and pimply pitchman are so hip that the company is
cranking out campus-cool "Dude Gear" -- T-shirts, baseball hats,
backpacks and CD cases. Now you can get "duded up" without buying a
Dimension. The company says the dude duds are just a natural
extension of the commercials; so basically you can have what Steven
has. Fortunately, other stuff the character may have (like a fake ID,
beer-battered futon and three-month-old pizza boxes) aren't part of
the package.
