THE MISSING LINK
Boredom cure expensive in Germany

This is the kind of shopping spree that would make Paris Hilton blush. Here are the astounding numbers: one Internet connection, two hours, three German teenagers and nearly $160 million. The teens hacked into an account at an auction Web site and went wild -- like geeks in a computer store. They bought small planes, patents, industrial machinery, restaurants and artwork, with money they didn't even begin to have. German authorities are looking into the spree. The kids said they did it because they were bored.
