IBM has long-term strategy on SOAs [(SearchWebServices.com)] In recent months, IBM has announced a comprehensive strategy for helping enterprises plan and build service oriented architectures, but that strategy is hardly one that can -- or should -- be implemented overnight. In fact, its SOA plans could even help competitors. The tech firms are calling for authentication of email senders by IP address or with digital content signatures, and zero tolerance for "zombie" PCs that spammers hijack to send unwanted messages. Eclipse readies tools for diverse app building [CNET] The open source software foundation for Java developers is preparing to release new tools for building rich-client applications, part of an effort to help businesses construct graphics-rich applications that run on different operating systems. Eclipse was part of IBM until February, when Big Blue spun off the organization.
