We have an informative expert webcast coming up this Wednesday January 12th at noon EST with Dave Hatter, President of Libertas Technologies.
You probably already know that LotusScript is a script language for use in a Lotus Notes client program or as a scheduled agent within a Domino server program. According to our very own SearchDomino.com glossary definition, "It can be compared to _javascript_, the script language for use in a Web page. (_javascript_ can also be used in Lotus Notes programs.) Described as 'BASIC-like,' LotusScript is said to be
useful for accessing back-end databases and driving the client user interface. LotusScript can be coded within the Lotus Domino Designer development environment."
This webcast, entitled LotusScript 101, aims to help you learn how and where to use LotusScript. It covers key concepts that will help you succeed in Notes/Domino environments. Subjects covered will include, what exactly LotusScript is, where to use it, when to use it and how to use it. More specifically, Dave Hatter will provide an overview of syntax, discuss concepts and security and provide simple examples and best practices. After his presentation Dave will answer your LotusScript
questions in a live question and answer segment.
While your in a LotusScript state of mind, be sure to check out our SearchDomino.com LotusScript Learning Guide which explains best practices and pitfalls to avoid and provides troubleshooting help and advice. You'll find LotusScript articles, tutorials, tips, tools, white papers, expert advice and more to pump up your LotusScript know-how quickly.
Our webcast presenter, Dave Hatter, has nearly 11 years of programming experience in a number of tools and environments including IBM WebSphere and Microsoft IIS/ASP. He has authored/co-authored 11 books and has been working with Lotus Notes/Domino for nearly 8 years.
