LEAD STORY
"Exchange security patch needs patching"
The patch needs a patch. The security update Microsoft rolled out
last week to caulk a hole in Exchange 2000 server actually needs a
patch itself. MS is also broadening its original Exchange 2000
security bulletin to include Exchange 5.5 Server deployments for the
first time. Microsoft says if you've deployed Outlook Web Access, you
need to patch ASAP.

[1] "Zombie army attacks Microsoft"
Microsoft is getting caught in a storm. A worm called DoS.storm is
worming its way into Microsoft IIS 4 and 5 systems and launching
denial of service attacks against the Microsoft.com Web site. The
worm is especially fond of systems that haven't been patched for the
known Web Server Folder Traversal security vulnerability.

[2] "Hitachi, Microsoft to pair on data storage"
Microsoft and Hitachi will work together to make and market storage

[3] "New report questions Linux server claims"
Microsoft is helping stir a debate over Linux's share of the server
market. A recent Gartner Dataquest report, co-sponsored by Redmond,
found about 9% of server shipments in the U.S. during the third
quarter of 2000 were Linux-based. That's considerably less than the
figures in an IDC study.
