"Microsoft clarifies Datacenter LE release plans"

The senior director of the Windows .Net Server Solutions Group wants
everyone to know that Windows .Net Datacenter Server will hit the
door at the same time as the other Windows .Net Servers -- in the
first half of 2002. That was not the case with the Win2k family.
Datacenter came about seven months after the other versions of
Windows 2000.

[1] "Microsoft, PASS postpone SQL Server conference"
Microsoft and the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) have
postponed their conference due to the terrorist attacks. The four-day
conference was supposed to start next Wednesday in Orlando, Fla. No
word yet on a new date.

[2]  "Judge extends deadline for Microsoft timetable"
Microsoft and government lawyers are getting four extra days to turn
in paperwork on a timetable and issues in the antitrust case. U.S.
District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly gave both sides a deadline
extension, realizing the attacks in Washington and New York have
caused people to rearrange their priorities.

[3] "IDC: Windows holds desktop, battles Linux on servers" 
IDC researchers foresee Windows staying top dog in the client
operating environment for a while. They think the only thing keeping
it from owning the server side too is Linux. By 2005, IDC predicts
Microsoft will have 67% of the combined server and client operating
systems and subsystems market.

[4] "Mafiaboy loses his liberty"
The Canadian hacker nicknamed "Mafiaboy" will spend eight months in a
youth detention center. The 17-year-old Montreal teenager launched
DoS attacks last year against major Internet sites. Those attacks
caused some $1.7 billion in damages.

[5] "Maker of Kournikova virus stands trial" 
The 20-year-old man behind the Anna Kournikova virus is on trial in
the Netherlands. Prosecutors want 240 hours of civil service out of
him. They also want his computer and a CD-ROM containing computer
viruses.
