Large customers are advised to sign up for new Select version 5.0 agreements close to the July deadline. Gartner also says to keep pushing MS to tweak its policies, especially the requirement to repurchase a license for customers that pass on Software Assurance. Another post-September 11th chain letter hoax is sullying cyberspace. This one claims terrorists have stolen Ryder and U-Haul trucks and are planning to make their move (so to speak) at various locations across the United States. The author grasps for legitimacy by attributing the story to FEMA. But a chain letter awareness group, Break the Chain, says don't fall for it, and don't forward it. The letter has spread far and wide enough to move U-Haul to action.
