NETSCAPE SUES MICROSOFT | News: Mercury News

The battle of the browsers is about to really get clicking. Netscape
has filed a civil antitrust suit against Microsoft over the whole
browser issue. The suit asks for a jury trial to set damages and to
make the browser market competitive again. Internet Explorer pretty
much wiped the pioneering Navigator off the face of the Internet, and
Netscape thinks it happened unfairly.

INDUSTRY SAYS HO-HUM TO NETSCAPE SUIT | News: CNET

The industry isn't exactly buzzing over the Netscape versus Microsoft
lawsuit. Even the most strident Redmond bashers, including Oracle and
Sun, aren't talking about it. An official with Linux distributor Red
Hat said the suit became inevitable two years ago when Judge Jackson
flayed Microsoft's business practices.

"SUCKS" SITES TO BE DOLED OUT FOR FREE | The Missing Link

Free speech -- it doesn't suck. That's why a First Amendment lawyer
is sticking up for a Web surfer's right to gripe on site. He's giving
away "yourcompanyheresucks.com" Web sites and making sure the firms
they target can't close them down. Guinness-really-sucks.com and
wal-martsucks.com are just two of the domains that died due to
trademark violations. Ed Harvilla's Free Speech Center finds a way
around the legal hurdles and hands out the dissing domains for free.
Why bother? Harvilla feels if you take away a Web venter's right to
rage, online dissent could go the way of the eight track. Or
salvationarmysucks.com.
