This Week's Show
If 90% of the code base is the same, are there any compelling reasons -- technical or business -- to install Windows XP Professional instead of the older Windows 2000 Professional? The answer is a qualified "Yes." The challenge confronting corporate customers is identifying those issues and determining just which version of the Microsoft desktop operating system is right for individual businesses.
We'll discuss the pros and cons of all of the issues, plus specific technical issues surrounding Windows XP Professional with industry experts. Our guests include Stu Sjouwerman, president and CEO of Sunbelt Software, Inc. -- a reseller that specializes in the Windows market and conducts market research surveys. We'll also speak with Kevin Kocis, a senior IT manager at a large high technology firm in the Midwest. And Andrew Baker, director of Internet operations at The Princeton Review will answer your technical questions in our regular Ask-a-Techie segment.
And as always, we'll have our regular segments: Ed Parry with the news and Dave Gabel with our NetIQ trivia quiz and your chance to win a SearchWin2000 denim shirt and a NetIQ t-shirt. And don't forget our new "second chance" contest where you can win a BlackBerry handheld device. Just listen to the NetIQ Trivia Quiz with Dave Gabel and submit your answer to Question@Win2000Talk, and you will be entered to win*. Remember this is your last week to enter!
