INTRUDER SPAMS NETWORK THROUGH INTERNAL ADDRESSES | by Laura Hunter

Dear Laura:
"An unknown intruder has been able to spam our network and send users
to pornography sites. I don't know how the intruder got my company's
internal addresses. The e-mail appears to be sent to us as
'[EMAIL PROTECTED],' where 'xxx.xxxxx.xxx' is the name of any
organization. There is no mailbox in our network called 'data.'
Further, there appears to be nothing outstanding within the headers
or components of the messages. We're stumped. Do you have any idea
how the intruder is doing this?"

PROTECTING EXCHANGE 5.5 SID DURING MOVE TO NEW DOMAIN | Scott Schnoll

Dear Scott:
"I am migrating from an NT 4.0 domain to a Win2k domain, and I am
concerned about the SID for the Exchange 5.5 service account. The
Exchange Server is the BDC and is not being migrated or upgraded. How
can I protect this information when moving from my old domain to the
new one?"

COPYING LOCAL MACHINE PROFILES TO DOMAIN PROFILES | by Paul Hinsberg

Dear Paul:
"I am having trouble copying local machine profiles to domain
profiles. We store profiles on the local machines, not the network.
We do, however, have an MS domain that we created along with our
Novell network. We want our Win2k users to run only domain profiles
on their workstations. The problem is that everything from the local
profile isn't being copied to the domain profile when I run the copy
profiles command. Also, when I try to delete a domain profile that I
have created, it seems to corrupt other profiles."
