Leaky connection nets school monster bill
;)
You know how it is when you get a big water bill, wonder why you owe oh-so-much for H2O, then find out that the downstairs toilet (that no one uses) has been hemorrhaging for a month? That's kind of what happened to a primary school in the U.K. A leaky Net connection earned the school a quarterly bill of more than $89,000 -- pretty hefty considering that the school never had Internet access during that time. British Telecom blames a faulty router for continually dialing for a connection, thus causing the bill to bulge. And no, BT doesn't plan to budge on the bill. The school, which gets about $14,000 annually for IT expenses, is trying to get BT and the ISP to pony up some pounds to help with the petrifyingly prodigious payment.
