    Site Exclusives
    >> IT admins: Microsoft ruling will have little impact
The antitrust settlement has been approved. Now what? How will the decision in Washington affect you at work? Admins, analysts and consultants agree that the judge's ruling won't have much, if any impact on your job.
    >> IT pros skeptical of Microsoft's security claims
A good many of some 200 IT administrators attending a whistle-stop tour featuring Microsoft's top security executives last week said they think the software giant is making good strides on security but it will be a long time before "Microsoft software" is synonymous with "secure software."
    >> Consultant: SharePoint Portal Server falls short
That's the view of Rand Morimoto, president of integrator Convergent Computing and a special adviser to the White House on cybersecurity and cyberterrorism. Morimoto was speaking at a seminar in Oakland, Calif.

    Tip of the Week:
In today's economy, companies that have adopted Active Directory over the past two years are now looking for ways to get the biggest bang from their AD bucks. So how can you move from a strategic view of leveraging assets to a tactical one of implementation? The answer will involve IT asset organization.
