NEWS
Microsoft looks to add value to Licensing 6.0 (eWEEK)
Since Licensing 6.0 has bombed in the popularity department, Microsoft claims it is looking at different ways to add value to the plan. For small and medium-sized businesses, the company says it is looking at throwing training into the mix, while larger enterprises may get more manageability support. Skeptics, however, think this is more about damage control than added value.

ASK ED TITTEL
Will getting an MCSE make me more marketable?
Dear Ed:
Being that the job market has severely changed, do you think obtaining an MCSE will make me more marketable? Is certification even necessary? There are a lot of ex-chefs, ex-nurses, ex-teachers and ex-sales persons that have their MCSE. What is the incentive of obtaining a certification when there are so many people who have them?

THE MISSING LINK
iSeePet sees pets get fed

When some pet owners in Japan go out of town, they just turn the dog off. But road trippers who have Airedales instead of Aibos or kitties that run on Deli Cat instead of Duracell need to make sure their pets get fed while they're gone. Enter the aptly named iSeePet, a water tank and food dish hooked up to a Web camera. Pet owners can log onto the iSeePet Web site from their hotel rooms, take a peek at the pet dish and use the Web interface to feed or water accordingly. It's a guarantee that no animals will bite the hands that feed them.
