GPOS AND FILE PROTECTION | by James Michael Stewart

Windows File Protection (WFP) automatically maintains the integrity
of system files. If any unauthorized changes are detected, the
affected file is removed and replaced with a CRC verified backup.
This feature is enabled by default, but depending on your environment
you may wish to control WFP centrally throughout your domain.

SUBDOMAINS NEEDED IN AN INTERNAL AD/DNS STRUCTURE? | Ask P. Hinsberg

Dear Paul:
In designing an internal AD/DNS structure, are subdomains an
over-complication or still a valid consideration given a
multi-platform (though mostly Windows) environment?

CHANGING POLICY SETTINGS IN A DOMAIN GPO | Ask James Michael Stewart

Dear Michael:
If one wants to change some of the policy settings in the domain
group policy object (GPO), one should not change the default domain
GPO, but rather generate a new domain GPO and position it above the
default domain GPO on the Policy Properties page via up/down. Does
the new domain GPO assume all the setting of the default GPO as a
base, plus any GPO changes that one would apply?

AD EXPORTING AND IMPORTING | Discussion Forum Thread

"Rmolina" writes:
I've just installed AD in a brand new server, which is not yet
connected to the LAN. I intend to use it as my domain controller
(unique). I have another server that is already doing this job, but
AD doesn't work correctly (a problem I can't fix). How can I migrate
computers, users and groups from the old DC to the new DC, provided
replication doesn't work (because of the problems on the original
DC)?
