DISCUSSION THREAD
Outlook 2000 sending .dat attachments
"Exchange93" writes:
We have a problem with sending mail attachments to non-Outlook recipients -- most of them are delivered as .dat attachments. Microsoft suggests changing the mail format to plain text; however, due to the necessity of having our company logo in everyone's signature we need this to be set as HTML so this is not an option. MS also suggested installing Office SP3 as a fix; however, all clients are service packed to 5. Does anyone have a fix for this?

THE MISSING LINK
Teenage hacker cracks computer, lowers grades

Remember when Ferris Bueller hacked into the high school computer and trimmed his number of sick days? A California teenager did something similar, hacking into the high school computer and trimming his GPA. Reid Ellison (no relation to Larry as far as we know) got into the system and lowered his average from a 4.0 to a 1.9. You would think a kid would want to bump up his or her grades, but when you have straight As you can only go down. Reid is not in trouble. School administrators actually assumed his hacking was lacking and challenged him to crack the system. After he proved his skills, he made sure school officials -- now busy shoring up the system -- restored his pristine GPA.
