LEAD STORY
.NET Server, AD improvements, mobility on Redmond's roster for 2003  (SearchWindows2000.com)
It doesn't take a crystal ball to realize that .NET Server 2003 and its Active Directory improvements will likely be the biggest newsmakers out of Redmond, Wash., in 2003. At least, that's the Windows view from late 2002.

DISCUSSION THREAD
Editing properties for multiple users in AD
"Tcekada" writes:
In NT 4.0 "user manager for domains," you could control-click a bunch of users and change the path of the home directory for all of them in one shot. In the "Active Directory Users and Computers" program in Windows 2000 you can't do this. Does anyone know of a way to do this in Active Directory? We are moving our user home directories to another server, and we just want to change the server name in the home directory path for multiple users without going into each object.

THE MISSING LINK
Google: Linux whips Microsoft

Linux has really done it now. It has "outgoogled" Microsoft. Google, the sultan of search, tallied up its most sought-after terms for 2002. As far as IT-related searches went, MP3 was tops in the box, followed by SMS, Winzip and Linux. Microsoft finished ninth. Among more general terms, Spider-Man proved his Web power, showing the sharpest increase in searches for 2002. Colombian singer Shakira shook out second place. This year people stopped looking for Nostradamus in droves. Searches for the French seer showed the sharpest decline. He probably saw that coming. (ZD Net)
