MANAGE GPOS THROUGH A GPO | by James Michael Stewart

While it may seem a bit like the chicken and the egg problem, it is
possible to control the function of group policy objects to a certain
extent through another GPO. Controls for GPOs are found in both the
Computer Configuration and User Configuration sections within their
respective Administrative Templates/System/Group Policy folders.

HOW TO COMPACT AND DEFRAGMENT THE AD DATABASE | by Serdar Yegulalp

Normally the Active Directory database defragments itself every 12
hours. This process happens automatically, and optimizes the database
so that data is accessed as quickly as possible and space for new
objects is freed up. What it does not do, however, is compact the
database if a great many objects have been deleted.

CAN I CHANGE A DOMAIN SO IT JOINS AN AD DOMAIN? | Ask Paul Hinsberg

Dear Paul:
I have a mixture of Windows 2000 servers and NT servers. My DNS
server is Win2k. I would like to create an Active Directory
environment on the DNS server, then simply change the existing domain
name on all servers and PCs to the new domain created by AD. Is it
possible to change the domain on a Win2k server so it joins the new
AD domain, or do I have to rebuild it to make it a member of the new
domain?

BULK IMPORTING USERS INTO AD | Ask John Robbins

Dear John:
I would like to bulk import users into my Active Directory from a
.xls or .csv file. How do I do this?
