LEAD STORY
Tool gives MS admins access control for documents  (ZDNet)
Microsoft announced a new security technology last week called Windows Rights Management Services for Windows Server 2003. The services would give enterprises more control over access to documents and data stored on computers. The current version of RMS focuses on securing data stored on corporate portals and intranets. Later versions will cover documents sent between enterprises over the Internet.

ASK ED TITTEL
Are we seeing a trend toward multi-vendor certs?
Dear Ed:
I recently obtained my Novell Master CNE certification. One of the requirements of the MCNE was passing CompTIA's IT project and test, for which I attained the associated certification. Likewise, Compaq and IBM require MCSE or CNE certifications for their ASE cert. Do you see this type of inter-vendor certification becoming more of a norm among other platform vendors?

Holland: Land of tulips, wooden shoes & file sharing

A company in the Netherlands makes no bones about it. Stealing is its business. TheHonestThief.com has become the latest file swapper to hit cyberspace. And if you're into file sharing, going Dutch is the way to go. The company probably won't go the way of Napster or Aimster thanks to a Dutch court ruling that has pretty much turned Holland into file-sharing central. "Call it file sharing or shoplifting, here in Holland we call it good business," said the chief "Thief."
