STOP USERS FROM ADMINISTERING OTHERS' COMPUTERS | by Roberta Bragg

Have you been looking for a way to add an Active Directory security
policy for disallowing users to manage other computers on the network
unless they have admin rights? Security expert Roberta Bragg says

CONDUCTING AN EFFECTIVE BUSINESS ANALYSIS | by Steve Weil

Security managers are increasingly being required to ensure that
their organization's information systems and data can survive a
disaster. In order to accomplish this, security managers are
conducting disaster-recovery projects which identify critical
information systems, tasks and processes, and define in what order
and how quickly they must be recovered after a disaster. A key
requirement for a successful disaster-recovery project is conducting
an effective business impact analysis (BIA). This article presents an
overview of the BIA process and how to conduct an effective one.

Test your knowledge with this week's quiz, then visit the list of
related information you'll find on the answer page.

There are pitfalls to using group policy objects that may not be
obvious. One of the errors that can be logged on workstations that
have GPOs applied to them unsuccessfully is Event ID 1000. This error
is notoriously vague, but the most common reason is:

a. The history key in the registry has been deleted
b. A registry entry has incorrect permissions applied to it
c. Missing or damaged registry entries
d. Both b and c
e. The FCC has removed an offensive registry entry
