GLOSSARY GRAB
Are you sitting in front of your computer and wondering if you are a carbon copy of your colleague in the next office? Or maybe you're looking for answers for a user who just called making much ADO about a blue screen of death, trying not to think of the tiny critter you saw in the scuzzy cafeteria last week -- you know the one, he was running mouse miles looking for dropped scraps of food. Who wants to work on a Monday morning? Wouldn't you rather be hanging wallpaper in your living room or making up for that fatal exception from the conversation with your spouse last night -- the one thing that would have let you sleep anywhere else but on the couch (OOPS!).
Or are you knee-deep in IT problems? Do you already feel like most desktops could use a good boot to the curb? Doesn't it seem some days that life would be simpler if everyone just used pens and tablets? They require zero administration and are about as technological as a pizza pie server. Ah, the days when Anna Kournikova was only a tennis star and a floating point unit was an alien spacecraft. Times were simpler then. Desktop themes could be perpetual motion balls or miniature globe bookends, and a directory was a listing of people that worked in the building and was usually found in the lobby. A memory leak meant that someone was really old and smart tags had your name on them and hung from your suitcase.
If you've been reading this wondering if all this ruminating suggests that I am certifiable, click over to SearchWin2000.com's new glossary. It's been given an A plus by teachers everywhere and even been called "FAT" by a few teenagers. We're pretty sure that's a compliment.
Let me know if there's a Windows-related term that you don't see and have been scratching your head about. We'll compile a few more definitions, configure the best one for our members and post it to our site.

'We're not moving SMS to storage,' MS exec says
Windows management software under the storage umbrella? Not to worry, says Microsoft enterprise management executive David Hamilton. SMS, MOM and other products will not become storage add-ons; their corporate minders will simply have a boss from storage. |

How important is Microsoft's enterprise management software?

| Tip of the Week: |
| You have heard about IntelliMirror, but do you know how the thing works and how you would configure it? As you probably suspect by now, configuring it is all a part of the work you do with Active Directory, and it's easier than you might have thought. In fact, it's all a part of setting up the appropriate GPOs. |
