The Wrong Choice: Firms consider Linux too 'bleeding edge' (SearchEnterpriseLinux.com)
Two large companies consider Linux for important enterprise applications but, in the end, go with other platforms. In one case, management eventually regretted it. Both firms considered Linux too bleeding edge and refused to see how sharp that edge really was.

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison has predicted that Linux will throw Microsoft out of the enterprise data center. Ellison said Apache has already displaced IIS as the Web server of choice and that it will happen soon with Linux. THE MISSING LINK
Spammer fights for right to invade Intel inboxes

Ahhh, the Bill of Rights -- freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom to spam? A former employee with Intel Corp. didn't take his pink slip very well. He slammed the company by spamming it -- sending e-mails dissing the chip maker to nearly 30,000 Intel employees. Incensed Intel wants the law to keep the disgruntled spammer from sending any more rants, claiming that the company's internal e-mail system is private property and that the former worker needs to keep out. The slammin' spammer claims free speech entitles him to click "send." The California Supreme Court now has the pleasure of figuring all this out. Stay tuned.
