I'd like to announce a new feature on our site -- the SearchWin2000.com Product and Vendor Guide.

This guide covers a wide range of areas for you to research including enterprise application integration, security solutions, systems management and much more. It allows you to conduct research in one convenient location and is searchable by company name, relevant topic or keyword.

The Product and Vendor Guide also allows you to submit information to a particular vendor without the hassle of accessing multiple sites. It's all right there at your fingertips.

    Site Exclusives
    >> Microsoft licensing changes to offer more freebies, support
Still feeling burned by Licensing 6.0? Microsoft hopes some changes, including more freebies on the desktop and more support on the server, will salve your wounds.
    >> Active Directory goes mainstream
AD -- two letters that used to be a four-letter word among Windows administrators-- isn't quite the curse it used to be. Active Directory finally seems to be going mainstream.
    >> Old attitudes die hard when it comes to Microsoft
Microsoft is still fighting an old enemy -- its own reputation. Customers still grouse about Redmond's monopolistic ways and pressure tactics, and they're glad Linux has at least brought some competition into the mix.

    Tip of the Week:
One solid benefit of Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 Active Directory domains over all previous Windows network directory services is the ability to delegate administrative authority over individual object attributes. No longer must you grant a user administrative group membership to grant them single-purpose administrative-level capabilities. That means that a small department head, for example, can administer the PCs in his department (an engineering group, perhaps) without having admin privileges, and without getting access to PCs in other departments.
