Gartner echoes concerns on Microsoft reliance (CNET)
A Gartner report scheduled for release on Friday adds to the chorus of voices warning about the dangers of worldwide reliance on Microsoft operating system software. Gartner, whose take on the issue is focused on the enterprise, recommends that businesses diversify their desktop software systems to defend against the potential for a "cascading failure" caused by a worm or virus.
