These interdependencies become much more pronounced when Exchange is installed on a domain controller. One of the ways this can create problems (although not intractable ones) is during the shutdown process. Shutdown ungracefully, and you'll feel more pressure than you care to deal with from management that can't get its e-mails. >> CLICK here for the full tip: http://www.searchWin2000.com/tip/1,289483,sid1_gci936829,00.html?track=NL-123 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= REGAIN SERVICE-ACCOUNT ACCESS TO USER MAILBOXES | by Serdar Yegulalp Exchange 5.5, by default, allows the administrator to access the mailboxes of users to read or delete emails freely via the Service Account Admin privilege. Exchange administrators sometimes take this out-of-the-box behavior for granted, and then they're surprised to find that they can no longer do this when they upgrade from 5.5 to 2000. >> CLICK here for the full tip: http://searchwin2000.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid1_gci927524,00.html?track=NL-123&FromTaxonomy=/pr/283639 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= DOES EXCHANGE 2000 INCLUDE NOTES CONNECTOR? | Ask Scott Schnoll Dear Scott: Is the connector to Lotus Notes included with Exchange 2003 Standard edition? This document discusses how the consolidation of the services offered by multiple Exchange 5.5 servers onto a smaller number of Exchange 2000 servers will help. It also outlines how Exchange 2000 improves on your reliability, recoverability and maintainability in the process. http://searchwin2000.techtarget.com/whitepaperPage/0,293857,sid1_gci935781,00.html?track=NL-123 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= PUMPING UP MICROSOFT'S EXTENDED WARRANTY | Opinion If Microsoft's Software Assurance offering is such a good deal, why do so few customers sign up for it? In a word, fear. Customers are apparently afraid that Software Assurance -- the maintenance aspect of Microsoft's Licensing 6.0 program -- will end up costing, rather than saving, precious IT dollars. To turn that fear into comfort, Microsoft is taking a two-pronged approach: incentives and education. http://searchwin2000.techtarget.com/columnItem/0,294698,sid1_gci936864,00.html?track=NL-123 ___________________________________________________________________ CERTIFICATION, TRAINING AND CAREER TIPS | Free Newsletter SearchWin2000.com's free biweekly newsletter provides expert certification and career tips and advice, and the latest updates on Microsoft certification and training developments.
