WHY CAN'T I CREATE NEW AD OBJECTS? | By James Michael Stewart

In environments with a high rate of object creation or even during
the process of migrating a large group of users, you may be unable to
create new objects in Active Directory. In most cases, the problem is
simply that the domain controller is running out of RIDs.

HEY! WHAT TIME IS IT? | by James Michael Stewart

How many times have you reviewed the contents of the system event log
and discovered numerous W32Time service error details? All too often,
this indicates that your domain controller is no longer able to
access a time authority server with which to synchronize. By default,
every time a server boots, it attempts to synchronize its time code
with an authority in the domain. By design, the domain controller
serving as the PDC emulator is the authority on time for a domain.
Thus, it is important to ensure that your PDC emulator domain
controller is able to access an Internet timeserver.

IMPLEMENT NT4 SYSTEM POLICIES IN AD ENVIRONMENT | Ask Serdar Yegulalp

Dear Serdar,
Can you recommend a good technical reference for implementing NT4
system policies in an Active Directory environment? I'm in the
position of having to migrate an NT4 domain, which relies extensively
on system policies for desktop lockdown and user profile
configuration. Most of the workstations will not be upgraded to Win2k
in the foreseeable future, but the timeframe for integration of the
environment is immediate.
