    by Jennifer Luscom, Assistant Editor

We have all had one of "those" days. You know, those days when you wake up just a little bit late, walk into the office just a little bit late and have to pass up your morning coffee. Then, when you finally, groggily sit down at your desk, you have 20 new messages from users with complaints, your phone will not stop ringing, and in your e-mail inbox is SPAM, SPAM and more SPAM.

Well, I want to hear from you! What is your biggest job aggravation? What is your most daunting job challenge? What would make "that" day mentioned above get 100-times worse? By hearing about your trials and tribulations, we -- myself and the other editors at SearchWin2000.com -- can help you find solutions.

But first let me tell you a little about what I do at SearchWin2000.com.

As Assistant Editor, I am responsible for carefully selecting the most helpful tips and expert advice for our daily newsletters. I also scour the Web for the best articles and websites for IT professionals like yourself who manage their Windows environments. So please send me any Best Web Links, or expert advice you come across that you think might be useful to your peers.

Lastly, if you have any ideas about how we can improve SearchWin2000.com, please drop me a line with those suggestions, as well.

I hope you have a great week, with none of "those" days. =)

     Expert Technical Advice:

    Featured Expert: Tony Northrup
    Category: IIS and Web Administration

    Dear Tony,
I am supporting an application that has a known memory leak which the vendor is not anticipating fixing. The memory leak causes the dllhost.exe process to utilize large amounts of memory. When the memory utilization for this process approaches the 500,000 KB range it cripples the app and requires a restart of IIS. I can prevent this by monitoring the dllhost.exe process and choosing to 'end process' when memory utilization for this process nears 500,000 KB. This is a completely manual process. Is there a way to automate this?

    >> Spam filter, Exchange 2003 SP1 to launch at TechEd
Look to late May for a bounty of new messaging tools from Microsoft, including the release of the IMF and the first service and feature pack for Exchange Server 2003.

    >> Late to migrate? MS offers free tool
Microsoft is offering a free migration tool for the last of the NT 4.0 holdouts, but some customers say the gesture is too little too late.

    >> Security, flexibility should coexist in e-mail
Two industry experts at Enterprise Messaging Decisions offer their tips and advice on how to run a secure e-mail system and avoid messaging disasters.

    Tip of the Week:
Windows Server 2003 automatically protects the essential security descriptors on the service level administrator accounts in the local domain. However, default settings allow normal users (i.e. members of the Authenticated Users group) to see the names of the user accounts that are members of the service administrator groups. Find out how to hide these user accounts in this tip.
