The Missing Link

Beam me up, Scotty -- please -- now -- hurry!
[Reuters]
Nostradamus may not have nailed this, but it's surely a sign of the Ageekalypse. If you log onto the Deutsche Welle Web site, you may now opt to get your news -- make sure you're sitting down for this -- in Klingon. Yes, the extraterrestrial tongue, which isn't a real tongue but plays one on TV, joins English, French, Pashto, Macedonian and many other legit languages in the site's language selector. Deutsche Welle, a radio and TV network that appeals to German expatriates and Germanophiles, has gone sci-fi to honor its Web site's 10th anniversary. The option to click on Klingon makes you wonder what the world is coming to. Evidently, it's coming to the planet Qo'noS, which orbits the star Klingon -- where "Kirk" is a four-letter word.
